Project
Project Location : NIPAH MALL
The architecture design of this building was inspired from Nypa Fruiticans (or Attap fruit). The site formerly was Nypa plantation before it was changed to become building area. The shape of the fruit was implemented on the front facade of retail area and at the center of retail area.
The available local materials is used in this project in order to minimize the carbon footprint. Thus we designed a building from materials that comes from local area or come from approximately in radius of 1000 km (Green Building Council Indonesia) from the
Sustainable features that will be implemented on this project is based on green building design principles. Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) is involved in this project as our guide to achieve green building certification. Thus in this building we are carefully examine every aspect of natural lighting, building OTTV (Overall Thermal Transfer Value) controlling with exposure optimization, natural ventilation, grey water and rainwater recycling and using energy saving mechanical engineering equipment.
The interesting part of this project is that by opening up the building into a more outdoor mall, hence the less energy consumption, the client interested in pursuing partially the green-rated building by integrating green roof and water recycling system.
